Weather in Boonville can be unpredictable, but Boonville Schools have plans in place for inclement weather when it arises.

When weather conditions require schedule changes, the district may implement one of the following options:

Traditional Snow Day School is cancelled for the day. 

Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI) Day School buildings are closed, but learning continues remotely. Students complete assignments through online and/or printed materials provided by their teachers. Student attendance is determined by completion of assigned work. Teachers are available to support students through Google Classroom and ParentSquare.

Late Start School will begin 2 hours later than the regular start time unless otherwise announced. This allows additional time for road conditions to improve and for buses to run safely. All classes and activities proceed as scheduled once school begins.

Early Dismissal School will dismiss 2 hours earlier than the regular dismissal time unless otherwise announced. This allows students and staff to arrive home safely before conditions worsen. After-school activities may be cancelled or rescheduled.

Winter Weather Notification

Winter weather can cause school plans to change quickly, but the district is ready to alert Pirate families as soon as decisions are made.

School dismissal/cancellation announcements are made on multiple platforms:

• ParentSquare alerts (text, email, and app notifications)
• Social media (Facebook)
• Local media (KWRT Radio, KOMU and KMIZ Television)

Important: Keep Your Contact Information Updated To ensure you receive timely weather alerts, it is critical that families and high school students have current contact information in Infinite Campus. ParentSquare sends alerts based on the phone numbers and email addresses in Infinite Campus. If your contact information has changed, please update it immediately by contacting your child's school office or updating it directly in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal.
